Randy Dale Prevette

Randy Dale Prevette, 55 passed away Wednesday night in Forsyth Medical Center after a short illness. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Reeds United Methodist Church where he was a member, conducted by Revs. Gary B. Foster and Dustin James. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with firefighter honors. The family will receive friends 6-8 Friday at Piedmont Funeral Home and will be at the home other times. Randy was born September 4, 1956 in Davidson County to Otto Prevette and Zula Mae Weaver Prevette. He was a former employee of PPG Industries. He was a former volunteer with the Arcadia Fire Department and currently a member of the Tyro Fire Department. Randy’s fellow firefighters elected him firefighter of the year at both Arcadia and Tyro. Randy was a member of the Reeds Methodist Men and an usher at his church. He was preceded in death by a brother ,Terry Lane Prevette. Surviving are; His wife of 24 years Mary Etta Prevette of the home; his parents of Lexington; brother Kenneth Prevette and wife Penny of Lexington; nephew Matthew Prevette; niece Cindi Prevette; great nephew and niece Ashton and Cassidy Prevette; and sisters in law Patsy Flynn and husband John and Shirley Davis and friend Ray Everhart.
