Randy Dean George

July 21, 1957 — November 24, 2018

   Randy Dean George,61, of Southmont went to be with the Lord at 10:44 PM  Saturday, November 24, 2018 following a battle with cancer.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Macedonia United Methodist Church, where he was a member, conducted by the Rev. Tammy Talbert. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home.  Randy was born in Davidson County July 21, 1957 to the late Robert and Lacey George. He worked at PPG for 24 years, and was a former member of the Southmont Volunteer Fire Department, and the Davidson County Rescue Squad. Randy loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his grandchildren, in addition to riding his motorcycle. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Coppley, brother Donald George, and brother-in-law Junior Bass.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years Jane; daughters Misty Gibson, Charlotte Haynes, Megan George, and Ashley Talbert; grandchildren Lacey, Kallie, Jasmine, Nyla, Gracie, Brooklin, Bailey, Brailyn, Toby, Baxley, and Owen; and his beloved Chihuahua PoocherGirl. Also surviving are one brother, Ronnie George, sisters-in-law Susie Bass, Becky Kepley (Lloyd), Shelia Bowman (Michael), Betty Jean Bass; and Pam George (Tony); brother-in-law Jamie Berrier (Tonya);many other nieces and nephews and family members whom he loved dearly; and best friends Mike and Anita Tilley.  Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Davidson County, 26 W. 6th Ave. Lexington, NC 27292.
