Pheobe Coppley Shirley

Pheobe Coppley Shirley, 76, of Southmont, died September 14, 2011 at High Point Regional Hospital. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 17 , at 11:00 A.M.at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Southmont with Rev. Randy Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor, and other times at the home of the daughter, Doris Blackwelder on Southmont Pond Rd. Mrs. Shirley was born September 16, 1934 in Davidson County to Bennett Coppley and Decie Owen Coppley. She was retired from the Davidson County School System and was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Howard Lee Shirley in August 1997, a daughter, Mellanee Shirley and a sister, Viola Lookabill. Surviving are two sons, Tracy Shirley and wife, Glenna, Brent Shirley both of Southmont; two daughters, Lisa Baker, Doris Blackwelder and husband, Richard both of Southmont, three grandchildren, Tyler Baker, Justin Blakwelder and wife, Cassie, Michelle Perrell and husband, Scotty; two great grandchildren, Karly Perrell, Katlyn Woodall; three sisters, Rachel Welch of Thomasville, Elva Carrick of Southmont and Wanda Johnson and husband, Jack of Lexington.
