Peggy Russell

Margaret Janet Lawrence “Peggy” Russell, 78, of Providence Road in Charlotte, formerly of North Koontz Road, Lexington, died Wednesday in Sunrise on Providence Assisted Living Center. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Lindquist, Rev. Dr. Lee Dukes and Amy Horn officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Russell was born January 9, 1930 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio to Leo Oscar Lawrence and Janette Beatrice Barton Lawrence. She retired from Lexington Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1993, as Director of Medical Records and Clinical Data, after 33 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Adult Fellowship Sunday School Class, the UMW and had formerly served as President, and was a volunteer in the church office. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Walter McLaughton Russell, Jr... Surviving are her daughter, Linda Wilson of Charlotte, her grandsons, Stephen Michael Wilson of East Carolina University, and Christopher Lawrence Wilson of Charlotte. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 9 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home, on North Koontz Road.
