Harvey Paul Lanier 86, a resident of Lanier Road, Lexington, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 in the Sticht Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Moore and Rev. Carroll Lupton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Lexington City Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Lanier was born in Davidson County NC on June 23, 1920, to the late Cuthbert Washington and Minnie Walser Lanier. He was a retired employee of Coble Dairy and was a member of the Second United Church of Christ. Mr. Lanier attended Friendship United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was his wife, Arlene Virginia Potts Lanier, a son, H. Paul Lanier, Jr., three brothers, Russell Lanier, A.J. Lanier, and Gary Lanier, Sr., two sisters, Melba Hegler, and Thelma Snyder and a granddaughter, Julie Arlene Lanier. He is survived by a daughter, Connie Moore and her husband, Jim of Linwood; a sister, Nancy Harris of Woodruff, SC, four grandchildren, Scott Moore and his wife, Deborah, Gina Brown and her husband, Nelson, Jeff Lanier and his wife, Karen, and Jody Lanier and his wife, Chasity. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Kelby Tollie, Hunter Brown, Tyler Moore, Katie Moore, Nolan Lanier, Matthew Lanier, and Adam Lanier. The family will receive friends Monday, June 4, 2007 from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
