Paul William Fisher

January 17, 1923 — March 14, 2007

Paul William Fisher, 84, of Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for Lexington, formerly of Roger Road, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Second United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. Jerry Moore. Interment will be in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3074. Mr. Fisher was born Jan. 17, 1923, in Northumberland County, Va., to Franklin Levin and Emilie Mae Kent Fisher Jarratt. He was a retired employee of Burlington Furniture and a veteran of the Army during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 3074 and American Legion Post 8. He was one of the founding members of South Lexington Fire Department. In addition to his parents, his wife, Elsie Wilson Fisher, and a half sister, Mary Renshaw Adams, preceded him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Paulette Langston and Jannie Davis, both of Winston-Salem; a sister, Shirley Baird of Marshall, Mich.; three grandchildren, Johnny Wright of Clearwater, Fla., Denny Langston of Winston-Salem and Autumn Vrska of Oceanside, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Sierra Vrska and Christina Wright. The family will receive friends one hour before the service Saturday in the parlor of Second United Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to South Lexington Fire Department, 2000 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
