Patrick Joseph Walker, 54, of Edgemont Lane, died Tuesday, January 20, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with Father Al Gondek, celebrant. Pat was born November 12, 1954 in Prince Georges County, Maryland to John L. Walker and Margery Bell Walker. He was an employee with Waste Management Incorporated and was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. He loved his family, the Outer Banks and ACC Basketball. Preceding him in death was his father. Pat is survived by his wife, Trish Walker of the home, his daughter, Kelly Walker of Wake Forest, two sons, Steven Walker of Durham and John Walker of Winston-Salem, his mother, Margery Bell Walker of Dagsboro, Delaware. Also surviving are his brother, Michael Walker and his wife, Kathy of Landover Hills, Maryland, his sisters, Terri O’Leary and her husband Mike, of Fredrick, Maryland, and Anne Nutter of Westlake Village, CA, his mother in-law, Patricia Nicolia of Lexington. The family will receive friends on Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church one hour prior to the service.
