Pat Myers

Foy (Pat) Myers, 82, of Avondale Drive, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at his residence. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Nancy Krall and A.B. Weaver. Burial will be in the Shoaf-Brewer Cemetery in Churchland. Mr. Myers was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Davidson County to Patrick Myers and Callie Waitman Myers. He was a retired employee of Burlington Industries. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S. Broadwater in the Pacific. Mr. Myers was a member of the American Legion Post 8. He volunteered with Meals in Wheels and did other work as a volunteer. He served his church in various capacities. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a grandson, Chris Myers. Surviving are his wife, Mattie Brewer Myers of the home; one son, Monty Myers and his wife, Martha Sowers Myers, of Lexington; and two grandchildren, Patrick Myers and Ann Myers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Piedmont Funeral Home.
