Oliver Ruben Sherman

Oliver Ruben Sherman, 84, of Old Salisbury Road, Lexington died Wednesday, May 31, 2006in Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Psalm 91 by Pastor Max Shoaf. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Sherman was born June 13, 1921, in Cowpens, SC to the late William David Sherman and Bessie Breeden Sherman. He was a retired Truck Driver. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were (2) sons, Oliver David Sherman, and James Richard (Ricky) Sherman,, and (1) brother, Elbert Sherman, (1) sister, Betty Sue Sherman Rowland. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Brady Sherman of the home, who he was married to for 59 years; his daughters, Lisa Mae Carlson of Lexington, Frances Ann Joyner of Winston-Salem, Pamela Kay Sherman, US Army, Fort Sill, OK., Marie L. Simpson and Joann J. Simpson of the home; his son, Larry Wayne Sherman of the home; his grandchildren: Wendy Hedrick, Chad Sherman, Brandie Slemp, Cody Carlson and Ciara Carlson; and his great grandchildren: Ethan Hedrick Garrett Hedrick, Luke Sherman, and Brendan Bishof. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 9 PM at PIEDMONT FUNERAL HOME.
