Newton Mckinley Keene

Newton McKinley Keene, 64, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Piedmont Funeral Home, 405 S. Main Street, Lexington.

Newton was preceded in death by his parents, James Everette Keene and Thelma Vance Keene.  He was born in McDowell County, West Virginia and worked as a Rip Saw Operator for Lexington Furniture.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ellis Keene, four sons, Dallas Keene of Thomasville, Nathan, Derrick and Joshua Keene all of Lexington.  He leaves behind three brothers, Bobby Keene of West Virginia, Carl Ray Keene and Jerry Keene of Indiana, as well as two sisters, Pinkie Saunders of Indiana and Martha Payne of West Virginia.   Mr. Keene will forever be remembered by his grandchildren, Braydon, Braylee, Serenity, Mason, Parker, James, Kayla and Kayleigh.
