Nell Copeland

Mary Nell Hunt Copeland, 78, a resident of West Old Hwy 64, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 8:53 AM at her residence. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 1, 2006 from the Reeds Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Copeland was born September 16, 1927 in Davidson County to the late Arvil Hunt, and Mary Ward Hunt. She was the Postmaster for the Linwood Post Office for many years, and later retired from the Carrboro Post Office. She was a member of Reeds Baptist Church, the retired Postmasters Association, and was a member and past secretary of the NC Wildlife Federation. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Frank E. Copeland, Jr.. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Kinard and her husband, David of Charleston, SC, 2 sons, Lee Cox of Myrtle Beach, SC and Joe Cox and his wife, Martha of Creedmoor, NC, a sister, Carrie Hunt of Lexington, 5 grandchildren, Will Cox, Julia Kokemor, Emily Cox, Joey Cox, and Abby VanRoy, and 2 great grandchildren, Philip Cox, and Madeline Cox The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
