HEADING: Naomi Hartzog Naomi Lee Everhart Hartzog, 99, of Raleigh Road, Lexington, died Monday June 20, 2011 at Hinkle Hospice House. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 2:00 P.M., at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ Cemetery. Mrs. Hartzog was born September 13, 1911 in Davidson County, to the late Charles Everhart and Valley Crotts Everhart. She was married to Frank Hartzog who also preceded her in death. Two children preceded her in death Daniel M. Hartzog and Donald M. Hartzog; one grandchild, David Hartzog; 4 sisters Florence Layman, Della Wright, Rosa Everhart and Pauline Swing; 3 brothers, Clyde Everhart, James Everhart and Cletus Everhart. Survivers include children Ron Hartzog and his wife Patti and Glenyce Fulton and her husband David; brother Ford Everhart, and sister Ollie Smith; 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey Hartzog, Anita Weber, Steve Hartzog, Dan Hartzog, Jr., Chris Fulton, Karen Dorsett, Michael King, Martin Foster, and Johnny Yarbrough; 15 Great-grand children. Mrs. Hartzog was a life long member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ and was a member of Esther Circle. She and her husband owned and operated Hartzog’s Grocery Store on Raleigh Road for many years. Previously she had worked at Dakota Cotton Mill. Mrs. Hartzog enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, flowers, quilting, basket making and sewing.
