HEADING: Myra Sink Williams Mrs. Myra Sink Williams, 86, of Giles Road, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Alston Brook after declining health. A funeral service will be held at Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Reeds United Methodist Church, by Dr. Jim Martin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams was born April 13, 1925 in Davidson County to the late Bayard Franklin Sink and Sadie Craver Sink. Growing up Myra’s nickname was “Shine”, because of her red hair and the light that lit up the world around her. She was also the captain and star of the basketball team at Tyro School. Myra married the love of her life, William Donald Williams, who set his cap for her when they were both young, and their love never faded. Life her father, Myra was a Rural Letter Carrier, and the first woman Carrier to retire from the Lexington Post Office. As a life long member of Reeds United Methodist Church, she was an active Sunday School teacher and a kind loving Christian example to her friends and family. Preceding her in death were her parents; 5 sisters, Gretchen Lockwood, Annie Laurie Williams, Melba Grubb, Gloria Prevette, and Avril Byerly. Surviving are her husband William Donald Williams, of the home; two sons Michael Shelton Williams and his wife Joyce of Monroe, NC and David Lee Williams, of Charlotte; one daughter Dona Karen Beam of Plantation, FL; two grandchildren, Bradley Shelton Williams and his wife, Amy of Charlotte and Allison Williams Darden and her husband Rob of Greensville, NC; one Great granddaughter, Lily Ann Darden; one sister Jane Webb and her husband Jim of Lexington, and one brother Bayard Sink, of Lexington.
