Mildred Dellora Lyon

Mildred Dellora Crouse Lyon, 92, of Maryfield Nursing Home, formerly of Welcome, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at the nursing home. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010, at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ken Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Lyon was born June 29, 1918, in McDowell County, West Va., to Henry Clay Crouse Sr. and Willie Lou Graham. She was a homemaker, formerly employed by Belk of Lexington and Manhattan Shirt Company. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lyon. Surviving are son, Rev. Dr. M. Kenneth Lyon and wife, Lydia, of Matthews, and James Allen Lyon of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister Mollie Lou Bates of Wilmington.
