Michael Martin Ward

  Mr. Michael Martin Ward, 17, of Horseshoe Neck Road died Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at Smith Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Pastor Terry Smith. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home.   Michael was born in Forsyth County on March 19, 2001 to David Michael and Sara Adkins Ward. He was a senior at West Davidson High School where he was a member of the Beta Club and the Debate Team. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandmother Elva Ward, and his maternal grandparents, Franklin and Ann Adkins.  Surviving in addition to his parents are sisters Candace Dawn Moon (Mark), Chassity Kay Ward, and Cheyanne Michelle Adkins all of Lexington; nieces Casey Cashett and Vivian Rose Adkins of Lexington; and his paternal grandfather Giles Ward of Lexington.
