Michael Wesley Hinkle, 68, of Old US Highway 64, passed away March 16, 2023, at his home.
A memorial was held Friday March, 31, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family received friends from 1:30-3:00 PM prior to the service. Michael was born in Davidson County on February 2, 1955 to the late John William Hinkle, Sr. and Ruby Viola Holleman Hinkle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rose “Candy” Hinkle, brother, Claude Lee Hinkle.
Surviving are brothers, John William “Billy” Hinkle, Jr. of Winston Salem, Charles McClure Hinkle of Reeds, sister, Brenda Hinkle Lemly of Reeds
Michael loved race car driving. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and liked watching the masked singer every Wednesday night on tv. He would call his sister every Wednesday to remind her it was coming on because you see, she liked masked singer also. Mike loved to eat at Arby’s. Mike was a friend to many who knew him. Mike did carpentry. If you needed anything fixed he could probably fix it for you. Mike’s hobby was building model cars. His collection consisted of about 30 cars he built, glued and painted. Mike is at peace now. No more worries and no more pain. He is united again with his wife Candy. Mike loved Candy and has truly missed her over the 14 years since her passing.
