Mrs. Miranda Maxine Morphis Woodham, age 79 of Junias Drive, Lexington, NC died Sunday, December 6 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Floyd. Burial will follow in the Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Woodham was born September 30, 1930 in Davidson County to John Washington Morphis and Miranda Bean Morphis. She was a member of Reeds Baptist Church and a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. She was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Easter, by brothers, J. W. Morphis and Hoyle Morphis and by sisters Carrie Byerly and Thama Morphis. She is survived by sons, Richard Jolly of Rock Hill, SC, Joseph (Pat) Jolly and wife Linda of Charlotte and Thomas Jolly of Asheville. She is also survived by brothers, Grady Morphis of Paris, Texas, Rev. Luther Morphis of Winston-Salem, Walter Morphis of Statesville, Frank Morphis of Mooresville and Joe Morphis of Lexington; a sister Mary Kindley and husband Randy of Lexington. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The family will see friends from 6;00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Piedmont Funeral Home.
