Matthew Alan Smith

Matthew Alan Smith, 50, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Matthew was born on September 3, 1974 in Upshur County, WV to Burl J. Smith and Janet Riley Smith. Matthew was a Fire Fighter for Southmont Fire Department and volunteered at West Lexington Fire Department. His dream was to be a lifelong Fire Fighter. He also enjoyed the online platform TikTok, entertaining viewers with him and his wife Jessica’s comedy of the Crazy Hillbillies.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Piedmont Funeral Home in Lexington, NC, officiated by Pastor Chad Becker.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.

Matthew is survived by his parents and wife, Jessica Ann Smith of the home; sons Joshua Schulte and William Smith; sister Pamela Boggs; and two grandchildren Connor Schulte and Waylon Schulte.
