Mary Virginia Young

Mary Virginia Walser Young, 87, of Wilson Road, died Thursday evening at the home of her daughter in Denton. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Smith Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3-4 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Young was born in Rowan County on April 6, 1927 to the late William Arthur Walser and Mary Alice Hege. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Junior Order Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Vestal Young, four brothers and five sisters. Surviving are her daughter, June Young Fine and husband Ronald of Denton; grandchildren, Jason Fine and wife Holly and Michael Fine and wife Janice of Denton; James Fine and fiancé Amanda Martin of Winston Salem; one great grandson, Obed Fine, brother, Donald Walser of Spencer; sister, Doris Bass of Salisbury.
