Mary Frances Swicegood

Mary Frances Trantham Swicegood, 88, of South NC Hwy. 150 died Monday, August 29, 2022 at her home. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday in Arbor Lutheran Church Cemetery conducted by Chaplain Victoria Lasley. Mary Frances will lie in state at Piedmont Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-5 PM for those wishing to pay their respects. Mary Frances was born May 5, 1934 in Davidson County to the late Robert Lee and Clatie Lillian Cranford Trantham. A 1952 graduate of Linwood High School, she was the owner of a beauty salon for many years. She was also a member of Arbor Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by brothers Robert and O.C. Trantham, and sisters Juanita Hedrick and Grey Morris . Surviving are sons Bob Swicegood (Pat) of Pinehurst, and Randall Swicegood (Tina) of Lexington; and daughters Bonnie and Peggy Swicegood both of the home. Also surviving are four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arbor Lutheran Church, 198 NC Hwy 47 East, Lexington, NC, 27292; Well Care Hospice, 5380 US-158 Suite 210, Advance, NC 27006, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to thank Kathleen, Cindy, Bonnie, Dee, Paula, Cheryl, Chaplain Lasley, and Dr. Kinsley for the love and care shown to their mother.
