Mrs. Mary Crotts Parker, age 78, a resident of the Brian Center, formerly of Wren Boulevard, Lexington, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Brian Center. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM from Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Billy Sloop officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. After the service, the family will meet at Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker was born in Forsyth County, NC on July 12, 1929 to the late Beecher Crotts and Ida Martin Crotts. She was a retired employee of American General Life and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Ernest J. Parker, Sr., a daughter, Marcia Parker Farabee, sisters, Versie Wilkes, Maxine Curry, Mozelle Doty, Madeline Melton, Juanita Edwards, and Opal Miller. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Hobart Crotts, Vestal Crotts, and Beecher Crotts, Jr.. Surviving are a son, Ernest J. Parker, Jr., of Lexington, and a daughter, Cindy Parker of Lexington. Also surviving are two grandsons, Corey Gaston, and Brian Hall. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home.
