Mary Morphis Shouse Kindley 77, of Linwood, passed away Monday June 28, in Valley Nursing Center, Taylorsville, N.C. after a period of declining health. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday July 2, in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with Rev. David Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday July 1 at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home on Lakeshore Drive. Mary was born November 14, 1932 in Davidson County to John Washington Morphis Sr. and Miranda Bean Morphis. She was a former office supervisor of Lucia Corp. in Winston-Salem. She was a member of Reeds Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by first husband George Shouse June, 1985, brothers; J.W. Morphis Jr., Hoyle Morphis, and Rev. Luther Morphis and sisters; Thama Morphis, Carrie Byerly, and Maxine Woodham. Mary is survived by her husband Randy Kindley of the home; one son George Stephen Martin and fiancé Debbie Elkins of Tobaccoville, N.C., stepdaughters; Misty Sechrest and Kimberly Kindley of Thomasville, Regina Ginn of Linwood, Connie Reeves of Wilmington, and Linda Weaver of Mechanicsville, VA.. Brothers; Joe Morphis of Lexington, N.C., Walter Morphis of Statesville, N.C. , Frank Morphis of Mooresville, N.C. and Grady Morphis of Paris ,Texas, grandchildren; Alisha, Erica and Jonathan Sechrest , Allison Anderson, Aimee Williams, Michael and Christopher Phelps, Chad Weaver and Cyndi Bollander, great-grandchildren Michael Williams, Sarah and Marley Phelps, Rebecca, Ethan and Bethany Bollander, and several nieces and nephews.
