Mary Bailey Crouse, 90, of Idlewild Drive, died Sunday October 30, 2016 at Alston Brook. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday November 3, 2016 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Lee Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hr. prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Crouse was born in Davidson County to the late Julian Clark Bailey and Bronette Tysinger Bailey. She was a retired cross walk patrol person with the Lexington Police Department and as lunch room cashier with South West Elementary School. She was a life long member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. She was a member of Morning Glory Circle and Friendship Club women’s Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Clay Crouse, Jr., brothers, Ralph Parks Bailey and Norman Clark Bailey. Surviving are her son, Henry Clay Crouse III and wife Kay of Lexington; daughters, Janice Queen and husband Boyd of Lexington; Cindy Martin and husband David of Raleigh; sisters, Peggy Bailey Bates of Lexington and Patsy Bailey Via of Eden, NC; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
