Marvin Phillips Callahan

Mr. Marvin Phillips Callahan,79, of E. Hemstead Street passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Revs. Larry Miller and Waldo Hammonds. Interment with military honors provided by The Davidson County Honor Guard will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Callahan was born in Davidson County February 11, 1941 to the late Fred and Jewel Gladys McCormick Callahan. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Koonts Callahan, and a brother, Joe Callahan. A US Navy Veteran, he graduated from Davidson County Community College and was a retired electronics technician for AT&T. Surviving are sons John Michael Callahan, Michael Scott Calloway, and Kenneth Wayne Calloway all of Lexington; daughters Jewel Lang (Johnny) of Thomasville and Debbie Needham of Lexington; grandchildren McKinnlee and Amelia Lang, Denise Kennedy, Charles Needham, and Randy and Josh Calloway; and great-grandchildren Dawson, Brayden, Alexander, Braydon, and Katie.
