Mr. Mark Van Thompson, “Reb 1%er,” 67, of Old Salisbury Rd. died Friday, September 10, 2021 at his home. A visitation will be Monday evening Sept. 20, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home. Burial will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM at The Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, Statesville Blvd., with military honors. Mark was born in Ramsgate, England November 22, 1953 to Charles Edward and Stella Moise Thompson. He was a retired electronics technician from Freightliner Corporation, a 1972 graduate of West Davidson High School, Founder and President of Lords Motorcycle Club of Germany, and a member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club of Lexington, NC. A US Army veteran, he was a member of the Army Special Forces, while in service. He was preceded in death by his father, brother Dean Thompson, and one day later by his pit bull Sincere. Surviving are his wife Tammy Ramsey Thompson of the home; sons Brian Thompson and Ben Thompson, and Jason Ramsey of Linwood; daughter Brandy Ramsey of Linwood; sister Tracy Hedrick of Salisbury; his mother; and nephew J.D. Thompson. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren.
