Mrs. Marjorie Dunn Craver, 81, of Abbotts Avenue, died Monday, June 01, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem after a short battle with cancer. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 4 from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Max Shoaf and Dale Elbertson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Craver was born September 19, 1927 in Davie County to William A. and Donnie Williams Dunn. She held several degrees from Bible Colleges and worked as a secretary at Cecil School. She later worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Monroe’s Service Center for more than 30 years. She loved playing her piano, singing and dancing. Her husband, Druey Lee Craver, Jr., preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Elmer, Holloway, Bill and Joe Dunn; her sisters, Olie Dunn, Pauline Wood, Vida Whitman, and Edna Davis. She is survived by her son, Garland Lee Craver of Florida, her brother, W.A. Dunn, Jr. of Advance; her sister in law, Ethel Dunn of Clemmons, a number of nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Betty Dameron. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday at Piedmont Funeral Home.
