Marie Lanning Tetter, 85, a resident of Tussey Road, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at 6:10 PM in Lexington Memorial Hospital Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, July 17, 2006 from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Greene and Rev. David Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Tetter was born February 4, 1921 in Davidson County to the late Tom Lanning and Mary Lanning. She was a former employee of Shoaf’s Wayside Furniture and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband,Ray Tetter of the home, 1 son: David Tetter and his wife Jane, of Lexington, 3 sisters: Kathleen Burkhart, and Margaret Tetter of Lexington and Rose Kennedy of Southmont, 1 brother: George Lanning of Lexington, 3 grandchildren: Lisa Miller and her husband Johnny, Tonya Smith and her husband, Dean, and Kari Wilson and her husband, Joey, 7 great grandchildren: Dani Miller, Patrick Miller, Dawson Smith, Emma Smith, Anderson Wilson, Anna Wilson, and Lora Wilson. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the residence on Tussey Road.
