Maria Bennett

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; II Timothy 4-7.

After a courageous nine and a half year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Maria Bennett, 69, of Myrtle Beach, SC entered heaven to her eternal life. Maria was born in Suffolk, VA on September 14, 1952, to Stefan Antis Sr. and Katharina Frieden Antis. Maria was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Susanna Howard, Frances Antis, Katharina Ross; and brothers, John Frieden and Franz Antis.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Roger Bennett; brothers, Stefan Antis Jr. (Elinor), Josef Antis (Carolyn) and Michael Antis (Michelle); sisters, Frieda Cales (Jack) and Anna Bryant (Collis); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

After graduating from High School, Maria made her career as an office manager. She had a beautiful soprano voice and loved singing in church. Maria and her husband Roger met in church and were blessed with over 25 years of nursery and children’s ministry. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in the Piedmont Funeral Home, Timberlake Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to all the “Angels” from Hospice who helped us get through Maria’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to The Socastee Family Worship Center Missions Program, Hospice, or to a charity of one’s choice.
