Mr. Manuel Dias deBettencourt, 72, of Weldon Smith Road died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at Tyro United Methodist Church, where he was a member, conducted by the Rev. Randy Foster. Interment with full military honors conducted by The Davidson County Honor Guard will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 12:30-2:00 PM. Mr. deBettencourt was born in Forsyth County May 26, 1947 to the late Alexandre’ Dias deBettencourt, Sr. and Benie Wheeley deBettencourt. He was the retired owner/ operator of Manuel Services, a former scoutmaster of Troop 203, and a veteran of the US Army. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul deBettencourt. Surviving are his wife, Paula Poole deBettencourt of the home; son, Manuel Bryan deBettencourt (Crystal) of Hickory; daughter, Robin deBattencourt Holbrook of High Point; and grandchildren Cooper Holbrook, Alex deBettencourt, and Seppy deBettencourt. Also surviving are brothers Alexandre’ deBettencourt, Jr., of Lexington, and David Bettencourt (Kitty) of Wilmington, in addition to mother-in-law Mary Jo Poole, sister-in-law Nancy Stamey, brothers-in-law Kent and Joey Poole (Donna), aunt, Sue Wheeley, cousin, Bill Harris, special nephews and niece, Scoot Stamey (Julie), Matt Stamey (Karen), and Kailynn Poole, and other nieces and nephews.
