Maggie Watkins Gragg

Margaret Watkins “Maggie” Gragg, 87, a resident of Paul Workman Road, Lexington, left this earth to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 3:46 PM in Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Messer officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Gragg was born in Swain County, NC on July 7, 1920, daughter of the late Charlie Watkins and Hattie Stanford Watkins. She was a retired Hosiery Mill Worker and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, William Oscar “Ott” Gragg, a son, Kenneth Stein, three sisters, Bobbie Gunter, Bert Davis, and Arizona Sherrill, three grandsons, Brian K. Stein, William Jeffrey Hunter and Philip Stein. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Davis of the home, two sons, Billy Gragg and his wife Susie of Virginia Beach, VA and Jimmy Stein and his wife, Barbara of Charlottesville, VA, three sisters, Gracie Hill and her husband, Arvin, Tootsie King and her husband, Jimmy and Willa Bailey all of Lexington. Also surviving are a grandson Eric Hunter, and eleven other grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all whom she loved very much. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
