Mae Spears Money

Ila Mae Spears Money, 95, of Lenoir Health Care, formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the health care center. A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by Dr. Wade Dellinger. Mrs. Money was born May 3, 1911, in Marlboro County, S.C., to James O. Spears and Ila Frances Bristow Spears. She was a homemaker and a member of First Alliance Church of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex Levi Money; two daughters, Norma Frances Leonard and Carol Miller; and a number of brothers and sisters. Surviving are a daughter, Sondra Davis and her husband, Ben, of Hudson; one sister, Nina Shaw of High Point; three grandchildren, Leigh Leonard of Lexington, Michelle Honsaker of Hickory and Mark Davis of Lenoir; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Honsaker and Matthew Honsaker, both of Hickory. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. at Piedmont Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
