Lula Belle Michael

Mrs. Lula Belle Houck Michael, 79, of Andrew Sink Road died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at her home.  A funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she was a member, conducted by the Rev. David Robinson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.        Mrs. Michael was born March 2, 1940 in Ashe County to the late James Manuel and Lester Church Houck. She was the retired custodian for Shiloh United Methodist and Reeds Baptist Churches, and had also worked at The Dispatch. Also preceding her in death were brothers Edward and Millard Houck, and sisters Dorothy Taylor and Connie Ackerman.                     .         Surviving are her husband, L. Franklin Michael, Jr. of the home; son, Ronald Michael ; daughter Teresa Thomas (Josh) all of Lexington; brothers Clyde Houck (Mae) of Lexington, and Don Houck (Diane) of West Jefferson; and grandsons Spencer Thomas of Charlotte, and Kendall Thomas of Lexington, in addition to sister-in-law Dot Houck of Winston-Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Michael would have been married 60 years on December 19, 2019.  Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 943 N NC Hwy 150, Lexington, NC  27295.
