Lucille Carnell Cope Coleman Cross, 85, a resident of Bridge Street, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 8:55 AM at her residence. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, September 2, 2006 from Coggins Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member, with Rev. David Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Cross was born April 5, 1921 in Davidson County to the late James Lafayette Cope and Minnie Pierce Cope. She was a retired employee of Dacotah Cotton Mill. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her first husband, Foley Coleman and her second husband, James Walter Cross, Jr. and (2) sisters, Gelia Berrier and Lottie Leonard. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Throckmorton and her husband, Kenneth of the home, a son, Kenneth Coleman and his wife, Mary of Lexington, a step son, Steve Cross and his wife, Jennie of Dayton, Ohio, a brother, Samuel Cope of Jacksonville, Florida, 4 grandchildren, Belinda Mullens, Crystal Perry, Anna Hayes, and Jessica Cross, 5 great grandchildren, Drew Perry, Alyssa Perry, Emerson Hayes, Candice Hayes, and Coleman Hayes The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 PM at PIEDMONT FUNERAL HOME and other times will be at the residence MEMORIALS: Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293-1941
