Louise Stokes

Mrs. Louise Hall Stokes, 90, of Clyde Fitzgerald Road, died Sunday, July 19 at Lexington Health Care. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 22, at Linwood United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Melinda Penry and Don Noblitt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Stokes was born July 26, 1918 in Rock Hill, SC to the late Paul Monroe Hall and Sally McElhaney Hall. She was the dedicated wife of the late Robert Leon Stokes for 48 years. Mrs Stokes was a faithful member of Linwood United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She also was a 4-H leader in the community for many years. She was the beloved mother and grandmother of her daughters, and grandsons. Her brothers, Kenneth B. Hall, Lawrence C. Hall, and Lyle N. Hall, and her sister, Sarah J. Hall, also preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Frances Breedlove, and husband, Marvin, of Raleigh, Joyce Parsons, and husband, Robbie, of Linwood, and Sally Ann Stokes of Asheville; four grandsons, Brian Breedlove and Matthew Breedlove, both of Raleigh, Adam Parsons, and Mark Parsons, both of Linwood; and her brother, James Paul Hall of Wichita Falls, Texas. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her daughter, Joyce Parsons on Clyde Fitzgerald Road, Linwood.
