Mrs. Louise Earnhardt Call, 87, of Oakwood Drive, died Tuesday, May 4 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 6 from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Jim Martin. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Thursday prior to the service. Mrs. Call was born April 6, 1923 in Davidson County to Raymond and Lenora Clapp Everhardt. She served as the Executive Secretary of the Selective Service of Davidson County until her retirement in 1974. She was selected as the most outstanding executive secretary by the North Carolina headquarters in 1974. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Spruill Sunday School class. Her brother, Don Earnhardt, and her sisters, Edna Erle Wilson, Frances Reeser, and Faye Smith, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, J. Vestal Call, Sr. of the home; her son, James Vestal Call, Jr., of Moore, SC; her grandchildren, Carolyn Call, Lee Call, Scott Lee, and Jay Call; and two great grandchildren.
