Loraine Everhart Lanning

Loraine Everhart Lanning, 76, of Alston Brook, formerly of Westwood Drive, died Tuesday, November 11, at Alston Brook. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 15 in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with her nephew, Rich Zeigler officiating. Mrs. Lanning was born March 1, 1932 in Davidson County, to Emery Lee Everhart and Lillian Clodfelter Everhart. She was a retired employee of Smurfit-Stone Corporation and was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Ralph Steven Lanning and a brother, Wayne Everhart. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Blanton of Lexington, two grandchildren, Lauren Holdaway and Steven Holdaway, a great-grandson, Uriah Frieze. The family will receive friends Friday from 6until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home, on Westwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Loraine’s memory may be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293-1941.
