Lois Myers Shoaf

Lois Catherine Myers Shoaf, 93, of Rockcrusher Road, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Edgar Armfield Jr., Larry Peterson and Billy Pearson. Interment will be in Cotton Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Shoaf was born March 30, 1914, in Davidson County to Mock Earnest Myers and Mary Elizabeth Miller Myers. She had retired from Young-Hinkle in Lexington and was a member of Cotton Grove UMC. She was married to Archie Lee Shoaf, who preceded her in death. A sister, Vallie Owens, also preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Frances Kirkus and her husband, Gary, Catherine Williams and her husband, Harvey, and Mary Floyd and her husband, Gary, all of Lexington; two sons, James E. Shoaf and his wife, Lourine, and Archie E. Shoaf, all of Lexington; her beloved dog, "Baby;" 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be directed to Cotton Grove UMC Building Fund, 175 Jersey Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
