Lois Mcmahan Kepley

Mrs. Lois Virginia McMahan Kepley, 92, of Lexington, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 in Charleston, SC. Mrs. Kepley was born January 2, 1916 in Davidson County to the late Frank Calvin McMahan and Sadie Tucker McMahan. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, cooking, spending time with the family she cherished and serving her Lord; she attended First Alliance Church. Mrs. Kepley was preceded in death by her husband, William “Willie” Franklin Kepley, her son, Willie Franklin Kepley, Jr., one sister, M. Louise Foster, and five brothers, Carl McMahan, Elmer McMahan, Edgar McMahan, V. Hayden McMahan and Charlie McMahan. She is survived by a daughter, Judge Bonnie Koontz, of Charleston, SC; a son, James “Casey” Kepley and wife Sheila, of Winston-Salem; one sister, Mary Koonts; two brothers, Wilbur (Thelma) McMahan, and Albert (Cora) McMahan; eight grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren who treasured their “Mawmaw”. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sat., Oct. 4 at Piedmont Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St. in Lexington and at other times at her home on West Center St. Ext. Funeral Services will be held at Piedmont Funeral Home on Sun., Oct. 5 at 3 pm with the Rev. Paul Titus officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, 943 N.
