Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all that knew him; Lloyd Eugene Story, 95 of 312 Irma Ave., Lexington NC died Thursday, October 11, 2006 in Lexington Memorial Hospital.. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Second Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bea Edwards Copeland, and the Rev. Bill Sosebee officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park, with Masonic graveside rites by, Lexington Memorial Lodge #473. He was born in Cedar Hill, Anson County September 3, 1911 to the late John P. and Annie Ingold Story. He retired from Duke Power in 1973 after 30 years service. He was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a deacon and elder. He was a very active Republican, known to many as “Big R”. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 473, Shriners, Woodmen of the World, and the American Legion, Post 8. In addition to his parents preceding him in death were; Daughter- Jean Morrow, sisters- Minnie Correll, Ruby Blackwelder, brothers- Fred, J.P., Clyde, Dumas, Ray, and Coley Story. Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Virginia Snider Story, one son- Louis Story and wife Louise of Lexington NC, Two daughters- Louise Coleman and husband Louis of Lexington NC, and Gail McBride of Winston-Salem NC. Proud grandpa of nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM Saturday, in the Fellowship Hall of Second Presbyterian Church, and other times, will be at the home of a daughter, Louise Coleman, 122 Dellwood Drive, Lexington.
