HEADING: Lloyd Trogdon Menius Lloyd (Pete) Trogdon Menius 84, Passed away Saturday April 9,2011 at Brian Rest Home in Winston Salem. He was born January 9,1927 in Kannapolis, NC to the late James S. and Julia T. Menius. He was raised in the Lexington area until his enlistment in the Navy serving from February 1944 to September 1946. After his release he worked at a mill in Lexington until November 1948,when he enlisted in the US Army. In the Army, he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class (E7) and served honorably until his retirement in February 1965. Pete continues to serve today with his body is being donated for research to the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He enjoyed watching westerns on cable TV and had a passion for baseball, his favorite team being the Atlanta Braves. Our dad was preceded in death by his sons, Lloyd R and Ryan H. brothers, James O, Billy O, and Carl E, and sister Yvonne. He is survived by his sons, Billy W. and wife Barbara of Independence, Oregon, Andrew O. of Churchton, Maryland, Jason L. of Hillsville, Virginia, daughter Julia M. Wilson of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and step son James Wesley Campbell of Winston-Salem, sisters, Margaret Shaver of Lexington, Hazel Carpenter of Springtown, Texas and brother, Harry Lee of Biloxi, Mississippi.
