Lillian Myrtle Billings “Lillie” Cooper, 89, a resident of Alston Brook in Lexington, formerly of Dixie Street, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 in Alston Brook. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the graveside in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Mrs. Cooper was born in Davidson County on October 19, 1917 to the late Belvin Kilpatrick and Annie Foster Billings. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Lawrence Monroe Cooper, three brothers, Lindsay Billings, Roy Billings, and Elmer Billings, three sisters, Blanche Lanning, Ruth McElrath, and Marie Billings. She is survived by two sons, Belvin Cooper and his wife, Clara, and Larry Cooper and his wife Kay all of Lexington;, a brother Clyde Samuel Billings and his wife, Mary of Lexington. She is also survived by two grandchildren Lennie Cooper and his wife, Ann and Crystal Stewart and her husband, Sam, a great grandson, Leath Cooper, two step great granddaughters, Ellen Morris, and Nikki Wise, two step great grandsons, Zach Stewart, Zeb Stewart, and two step great great granddaughters, Jayce Morris and Sadie Byerly. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will be at Piedmont Funeral Home Monday from 6 until 8 PM and other times will be at the home of the son, Belvin Cooper, 184 Rosebriar Drive, Lexington, NC 27292 Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 823 Ridge Road, Lexington, NC 27295, or to Open Door Baptist Church, PO Box 1142, Lexington, NC 27293
