Lee Michael

Rodney Lee Michael of Beech Drive passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 27, 2009 at his home following a 15 month illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009, at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Michael was born May 25, 1954, in Davidson County, to Thomas Lee Michael and Hazel Blalock Michael. He was an employee at Triad Realty and Investments in Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife, Shelia Lawson Michael of the home; sons, J.R. Michael of Lexington; stepsons, Kenny Griffin of Boone, and Eric Griffin of Lexington; stepdaughter, Chris Wilson of Surfside Beach, S.C.; granddaughter, Kenzie Michael of Lexington; step-granddaughter Jillian Wilson of Surfside Beach, S.C.; his mother of Lexington; brothers, Richard Foyell Michael and Carl Michael and wife, Anita, all of Lexington; and a sister, Jenella “Sue” Hazelton of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
