Larry Malbourne Kepley, Sr. passed away December 4, 2024. He was 89 years old. He was born on January 15, 1935 to the late Clifton and Beulah Koontz Kepley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4299 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, North Carolina where he was a member with Rev. Angela Powell, Rev. Christopher Metze and Rev. Mark Metze officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45 p.m. at the church Pless Hall. Burial will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery. Larry was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958 and stationed in France. He worked for United Furniture, Hennis, Spector and Yellow Freight Lines. He loved his family and enjoyed bowling at the YMCA. He was a member of the American Legion Post #5. He enjoyed fellowship with fellow veterans at RCR. He and Barbara were married at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in 1956. Larry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Leonard Kepley; a daughter, Christina Kepley Metze, husband the Rev. Dr. Tony Metze. A son, Larry Kepley, Jr. and wife Kathe. Three grandchildren, Melanie Metze Corn and husband Michael; the Rev. Mark Metze and wife Rebecca; the Rev. Christopher Metze and wife Alyssa. Six great grandchildren, Katharine, Ruth Anne, Johnathan, Henry, Eli and Samuel. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choosing.
