It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Robert Hartley, 73, of Tyro on November 21, 2024. He left this world peacefully to join the love of his life, Charlene Baxley Hartley. Larry was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dalton Hartley on July 28, 1951. Larry and Charlene were married on June 17,1972. They had 2 sons, Larry David Hartley (wife-Amber Hartley) and Matthew Lane Hartley (partner-Amber Reinsvold), 2 grandsons (Kenneth and Landon), a granddaughter (Gracie) and a great grandson (Eli). He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents and 2 sisters (Barbara and Linda). He is survived by his children, 1 brother (Andrew) and 2 sisters (Ann and Jean). Larry attended Davidson County Community College and received a Machinist Degree. After working for many years in this field, he became an entrepreneur and grew his business from his home. He also pursued opportunities at the American Red Cross and Norfolk Southern Railroad. He became a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in September 2022. Larry was known for his friendly personality, kind heartedness, infectious laugh and dedication to his late wife and family. Larry and Charlene had a relationship like no other. They shared their entire lives together and their love for each other only grew stronger. They are admired by many and will be missed by even more. There will be a celebration of life for Larry and Charlene which will be announced at a later date. Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
