Kenneth Wayne Phelps

Kenneth Wayne Phelps 68 of Highway 150 died Wednesday May 30, 2012 at his home. Graveside service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday June 2, 2012 at Hartland Missionary Methodist Church Cemetery in Morganton, NC with the Rev. Danny Carr officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday June 1, 2012 at Piedmont Funeral Home. Kenneth was born in Davidson County on August 17, 1943 to the late Samuel Ernest Phelps and Metta Tesh Phelps. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Phelps, a sister, Mary Jane Powell. He was a member of Heavens Gate Church, he was a retired member of the Arcadia Fire Department, and was a retired employee of Bumper and Bumper Auto Parts. Surviving are, sons, Kenneth Wayne Phelps, Jr. of Walkertown, Herman Lee Shouse of Winston Salem, daughters, Sandra Kay Brim of Walkertown, Melissa Workman and husband Keith of Denton, brothers, Roger Phelps of Clemmons and Jerry Phelps and wife Frankie of Lexington.
