Kay Messick Meade

Kay Messick Meade, 73, of Centerclair and formerly of Fairview Drive, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Forsyth Memorial Center in Winston-Salem with her family at her side. An informal visitation and memorial will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of her sister, Pam Williamson, at 225 Woodhaven Drive. Mrs. Meade was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Davie County to Clarence David Messick and Mildred Honeycutt Messick. She was a graduate of Mitchell College in Statesville, and she trained in X-ray at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. She was the first X-ray technician to work at Lexington Memorial Hospital in 1956. Surviving are two sisters, Joyce M. Bigger and her husband, John, and Pamela M. Williamson and her husband, Greg. Mrs. Meade is also survived by six nieces and nephews, one great-niece and one great-nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1791, Lexington, NC 27293 or Hospice of Davidson County, 524 S. State St., Lexington, NC 27292.
