Kathleen Mize Younts, 93, a resident of Shady Hanes Road, Lexington, died Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 8:37 AM in Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2007 from Good Hope United Methodist Church by Rev. Chris Bennett and Dr. Harold Fletcher. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Ms. Younts was born May 1, 1914 in Davidson County to Charlie Columbus Mize and Daisy Elizabeth Byerly Mize. She retired from Capt. Stevens Fish Camp, after more than 37 years of service She was preceded in death by her son, Ewell Vernon Younts; her sisters: Pauline M. Bates, who was her twin, Maggie M. Roberts and Mary Zula Mize; and a brother, Robert L. Mize. Surviving are her sons: Steve Younts and wife, Debra of Lansing; NC, Douglas Younts and wife, Kathy and Charles Younts and wife, Robyn, all of Lexington; her daughters: Shirley Reid of Winston-Salem, and Jane Koonts, and husband, Robie, of Lexington; Sally Hatcher and husband, Rod, of Winston Salem and Kendall Smith and husband, Bud, of Kernersville; her grandchildren: Ava Ripple, Gerald Ripple, Lisa Hampton, Gregory Koonts, Vernon Koonts, Scott Hatcher, Shane Hatcher, Andrew Smith, Tina Sims, Tonia Walser, Angela Wagner, Stephanie Bryan, Jennifer Younts, Ryan Younts, Tova Younts, and Jordan Younts; a step grandchild, Gregory Mabe. Also surviving are 15 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and 2 step great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at their respective homes. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Kate B.
