Katherine Clontz Lanier

Katherine Gertrude Clontz Lanier, 67, of Leonard Road, died Monday, February 23 in Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Mahan officiating. Katherine was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on February 19, 1942 to the late Barney Clontz and Lilly Mae Owensby Clontz. She had owned and operated a Convenience Store in Calabash, NC. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were two sons, Harold Lee Kanupp and Roger Dale Kanupp and her brother, Earl Clontz. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Yvette Eller of Winston-Salem, two sons, Donald Kanupp of Lexington, and James Rusty Kanupp of Louisiana, her sister, Lila Mae Davis of Charlotte. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home, on Leonard Road.
