Junior Bass

Horace Junior Bass, 62, of Bimbo Dr. died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at his home after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, February 28 from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Harold Smith. Burial will follow at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mr. Bass was born February 13, 1950 in Mecklenburg County to Horace Grillis Bass and Elizabeth Ingle Nance. He was a former employee of Parkdale Mills and Fieldcrest Cannon Mills and later worked for the High Point Furniture Showroom. His brother, Carl Lee Bass, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Kerry Sue Berrier Bass of the home; his daughter, Yvonne Oates of Boynton Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Randy and Brian Oates, of Boynton Beach, FL; and his brothers, John Bass of Landis, Allen Bass of Spencer, Lloyd Kepley of Linwood, and Randy George of Southmont.
