June Ramona Mccall

June Ramona Greene McCall, age 99, passed away April 18, 2018 in Carrollton, Georgia. Mrs. McCall was born in Yadkin College, North Carolina March 17, 1919, daughter of the late George Homer Greene, Sr. and Helen Hartley Greene. She married Jesse Phillip McCall of Dothan, AL. February 7, 1942. After his discharge from the Army in 1945, they lived in Attapulgus, GA. before moving to Carrollton in 1992. She retired as a RN from Southwestern State Hospital, Bainbridge, GA. in 1979. She was a member of the First UMC and the Adult Friendship Class of Carrollton.   Survivors include sons, George Allen McCall, Sr. of Carrollton, GA., Jesse Phillip McCall, Jr. of Ellijay, GA., four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Greene Adkins of Yadkin College, NC. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Monte L. Greene, George Homer Greene, Jr. and Rhett Edward (Eddie) Greene.   Graveside memorial service will be held in Yadkin College Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 19, 2018 with the Rev. Dr. Jim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the “Greene Homeplace” in Yadkin College following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Yadkin College Cemetery Fund, c/o Nancy Brooks, 421 Brooks Circle, Lexington, NC 27295.
